Welcome to the 18th election for the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. For this ballot, only artists and groups who debuted by 1977 are eligible. Next month, we will add names of people who debuted in 1978, and so on. Eventually, some time in the next year, we will get caught up to those who debuted by 1987, and will switch to an annual election.

Below is a list of 25 nominees for the 18th class of the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. Pick up to 10 (minimum four), and post your ballot either in the comments section of this post or on the People's Rock Hall Facebook page

Anyone named on more than 50% of the counted ballots will be inducted.

Write in votes: you can include one write-in vote if you choose. They must meet the 1977 cut-off date to be valid.

Polls close on Saturday June 1, 2013 at 5:00 PM EST.

The polls are closed, the ballots have been counted, and we are proud to add five more names to the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. Some big names missed the cut - Bad Company was the closest, just one vote shy of induction - but many will be back for our next election, so if any of your favorites didn't get in this time, stay tuned and get ready to vote for them in our 18th election, which will be announced shortly. Vote in the 17th People's Rock Hall Election!

First time nominees the Ramones
Welcome to the 17th election for the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. For this ballot, only artists and groups who debuted by 1976 are eligible. Next month, we will add names of people who debuted in 1977, and so on. Eventually, some time in the next year, we will get caught up to those who debuted by 1987, and will switch to an annual election.

This time around, we are cutting the number of nominees in half from 50 to 25 and will go forward in future elections with 25 name ballots. Your ballot can include up to 10 names.

Announcing the 14th Class of People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame Inductees!

The polls are closed, the ballots have been counted, and we are proud to add nine more names to the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. This time around, we are adding four more inductees who have yet to be recognized by the Cleveland rock hall - Todd Rundgren, Rush, Steppenwolf and Lou Reed (Reed is already a member of both halls as a member of the Velvet Underground, but we are recognizing him for his solo career here). Some big names missed the cut, but many will be back for our next election, so if any of your favorites didn't get in this time, stay tuned and get ready to vote for them in our 15th election, which will be announced soon.
