People's Election: July, 2010
Welcome to the July election for the People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame. If you haven't voted before, take a moment to look at the rules. Those returning should note that the minimum ballot size has been cut from 15 down to 10 names. Voters can still name up to 25 nominees.
Vote for up to 25 artists or groups. Ballots can be posted either in the comments section of this blog post or on the wall of our official Facebook page.
You must vote for at least 10. Ballots with less than 10 names will not be counted.
Any artist or group named on more than 50% of the counted ballots will be inducted to The People's Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.
The cutoff year for eligibility is 1966. To be eligible, an artist or group had to have released their first single or album no later than '66.
Write-in votes are allowed. You may list up to three artists or groups not included on the ballot, and the vote will count, so long as they meet the 1966 cut-off date. If an ineligible name is included on a write-in ballot, that ballot may be counted as a short ballot. Ballots containing more than three write-in votes will not be counted. The People's Rock Hall moderators reserve the right to not count any ballots we deem to not be legitimate.
Balloting ends at 12:00 noon PST on Friday, July 16, 2010.

Oldies Committee Election: July, 2010
This will be our second of two planned special elections for oldies artists who are being removed from the regular nominee list as well as a selection of some other artists who debuted by 1960 who haven't yet been nominated. Originally, we had planned to hold off the second special election for a few more months, but after some discussion and consideration of all of the big names coming up in the regular election over the next few months, we decided to get it done now.
This election, like our regular one, will end on Friday, July 18 at 12:00 PM PST. Anyone can vote in this election, either here or under the discussion tab of our Facebook page. In order to vote you must:
- Vote for ten of the artists or groups named below. Ballots with less than ten will not be counted. Write in votes are not allowed.

Two separate elections were held this month, our regularly monthly vote, as well as a special election for "oldies" artists who debuted before 1956. Ten artists got in through the former, nine more through the latter. There will be one more special oldies election to cover artists who debuted before 1961, possibly in July.
